Jim Caldwell feels partially responsible for Detroit Lions' front office firings

ALLEN PARK -- Less than two years ago, former Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew and team president Tom Lewand saddled their futures to Jim Caldwell. Following a 1-7 start to the 2015 season, and the dismissals of the two longtime front office members, the veteran coach can't help but feel partially responsible.

"We're saddened by the news about Tom and Martin, the two guys, along with the Ford Family, that brought me here," Caldwell said to open up his Monday press conference. "You get close to them, they're like brothers to you. I had a very, very close working relationship with them.
