ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions had their first day of mandatory minicamp Tuesday afternoon but two players were not in attendance.

Defensive linemen Jason Jones and Corey Wootton both missed Tuesday's practice and Lions coach Jim Caldwell said they were excused.
