On Wednesday, the NFL Players Association announced their version of a 2023 All-Pro team. The only Detroit Lions player to make that team was special teamer Jalen Reeves-Maybin.
To be clear, this is not the traditional All-Pro team list, which is voted on by 50 members of the press and released by the Associated Press. This is a new tradition started by the NFLPA last season. Unlike the AP version, the NFLPA only has a first-team All-Pro.
There are a few interesting wrinkles to the NFLPA All-Pro list process. Only active players can vote, and they cannot vote for themselves or any of their teammates.
