DETROIT -- Jake Rudock led the Lions back on Friday night at Ford Field, down the field for 71 yards in 14 plays that he capped off with a one-yard dive for the pylon to score with just 26 seconds remaining.
The only problem was that the Lions were down 20 points and all the backups were in, because it's preseason.
Preseason is when backup quarterbacks get reps on the Lions roster. This year, Detroit has held an active competition for the spot to relieve Matthew Stafford in the event that he misses a game for the first time in 112 chances.
