Jake Rudock stars again at Lions' charity softball game, despite jersey mishap

DEARBORN -- Life is hard for backup quarterbacks.

You work all week. You hold a clip board on Sundays. And in Jake Rudock's case, people still can't spell your name after three years in town (and another just down the road).

Rudock showed up for the Lions' charity softball game on Saturday to find a No. 14 jersey with the name "Ruddock" on the back. But that extra "D" sure didn't slow him down, as he won the home run derby for a second straight year (with one) and then cranked an inside-the-park home run in his first at-bat to help lead Sam Martin's team to a 9-5 win against A'Shawn Robinson's team at King Boring Field in Dearborn.
