ALLEN PARK -- Golden Tate was bad to open last season. Then he flew to Chicago, and things got worse.
Detroit was trailing 7-3 late in the first half against the Bears, but finally on the move. Matthew Stafford saw an opening, and audibled into a timing route for Tate. He threw the ball as Tate was supposed to make his cut.
But Tate had missed the signal, and just kept running.
Jacoby Glenn picked off the pass, and you didn't have to have a headset to know who screwed up. As Stafford was making a touchdown-saving tackle, he was already pointing and yelling at Tate.
