ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Detroit Lions committed one penalty after another after another after, well, you get the idea. Their defense was flagged three times on a single series, and if that weren't bad enough, it happened coming out of halftime, when you're supposed to be making halftime adjustments.
The Lions were flagged seven times before Dallas committed its first penalty of the day. They were flagged eight times in all, costing them 58 yards of field position, including one controversial unnecessary roughness call against Romeo Okwara.
Dak Prescott was down on the play, but stood up, and there was no whistle, so Okwara continued playing and hit Prescott, just as the officials finally blew their whistle.
