DETROIT -- Even though he can't officially become the Detroit Lions coach until after his New England Patriots play the Super Bowl, Matt Patricia is at work in making calls on the coaching staff he's inheriting, sending a number of them out the door. One of those was even Matthew Stafford's quarterbacks coach, Brian Callahan.
He has a few more calls to make, including what will be his biggest in the early goings as a first-time head coach: what to do with offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter. It's a decision with several factors to weigh, and it's not always as it appears.
