ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Zach Zenner is trying not to waste energy. Everything he does on game days -- his pregame routine, what he eats, how he warms up and even the music he listens to -- is focused toward that.
Unlike some of his counterparts, who listen to rock, rap or R&B to get amped up to play in a game on NFL Sundays, Zenner prefers music that will mellow him out. The slower and more meditative, the better.
In the latest Inside His Music, Zenner explains why he prefers slow country songs and slow Christian rock music to get prepared for Sundays -- and how he gave up his pregame tradition of naps.
