ESPN made it happen.
The website did a fun exercise Monday based on the premise: What if every single NFL player were a free agent?
If contracts were reset and every current player were released to the open market, how would the draft board look (only drafting four rounds)?
Rules included:
• Each pretend GM – an ESPN NFL Nation reporter – had to select a quarterback, a non-QB offensive player and a defensive player, and their other pick could be any position.
• ESPN used the 2020 NFL draft order, with traded picks reversed, and a snaking format.
