BERLIN – Serbia stayed unbeaten in a tough group by defeating Turkey, 91-72, at the European basketball championship today.
Detroit Pistons forward Ersan Ilyasova had 11 points, four rebounds and two blocks for the Turks. He shot 5-for-9, committed three turnovers and was minus-9 during his time on the court.
Turkey’s American-born guard, Ali Muhammed, led his team with 16 points, and center Semih Erden added 14.
Guard Milos Teodosic had 17 points and 13 assists, as Serbia stayed perfect in Group B with a 4-0 record. Turkey fell to 2-2.
Serbia’s swarming defense and sharp shooting gave it a 16-point lead after the first quarter, ending the suspense.
