Phillip Hunt sticks out a bit in the defensive ends drills at Detroit Lions practice.
On a team that employs Jason Jones (6-5, 275), Ziggy Ansah (6-5, 279), Devin Taylor (6-7, 275), Corey Wootton (6-6, 284) and Larry Webster (6-6, 271) at the position, Hunt (6-1, 258) doesn’t necessarily fit in.
That is until he puts his hand in the dirt and fires off the ball with one of the quickest first steps of anyone in the group.
Hunt has made the most of his opportunities to play in training camp and the preseason and has put himself into the conversation when it comes to the 53-man roster.
