The Lions agreed to a one-year deal with the free agent and former Minnesota Vikings running back, his agent confirmed Saturday. The Lions have not announced the move or a corresponding move on their 90-man roster.
Asiata, who turns 30 in July, was the Vikings’ second-leading rusher last season with 402 yards and has averaged 3.5 yards per carry in five seasons. Last year, he led the Vikings with six rushing touchdowns and caught 32 passes for 263 yards.
