Jamal Agnew delivered wisdom Wednesday morning in the form of a short-but-sweet commencement speech to the graduating class of the Detroit Lions Academy — a Detroit Public Schools Community District alternative middle school located on the east side of the city.
In front of 22 future high schoolers and their family members in an end zone at Ford Field, the third-year Lions cornerback and return specialist began with humor, then turned serious when discussing three points to success in life: being a great leader, setting goals and asking for help.
“Everybody has to be a leader in their own right,” Agnew said.
