The Detroit Lions ran a trick play to blow the game open against the New York Giants in Week 8. Quarterback Matthew Stafford tossed the ball out to running back J.D. McKissic in what looked like a simple run off the edge. McKissic instead turned around and tossed it back to the quarterback, who lobbed it downfield for Kenny Golladay and a 41-yard touchdown pass.
The score was Golladay’s second of the day and the third touchdown pass for Stafford on the day. It gave Detroit a 31-19 lead in the fourth quarter, and gave them some cushioning at the start of what should be a fierce fourth quarter.
