Detroit Lions rookie cornerback Amani Oruwariye nabbed his first career interception in Week 12 against Washington, and it was a big one. The corner wrestled the ball away from fellow rookie Kelvin Harmon, getting the Lions back the ball late after taking a slim three-point lead.
The corner earned his first career start on Sunday, coming in relief of the injured Rashaan Melvin. Until last week, he had not even played a single defensive snap as he spent much of the early weeks of the season as a healthy scratch.
Oruwariye was selected by the Lions in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL draft.
