Ben McEnroe spent a night at Cory Undlin’s house last summer on his way back from a baseball tournament his son was playing in at Cooperstown.
They were college teammates and coaching assistants at Cal Lutheran, and as McEnroe cooked up burgers in Undlin’s backyard, he grilled his friend on what the next step was in his coaching career.
Undlin, the Philadelphia Eagles’ secondary coach at the time, had passed on opportunities to be an NFL defensive coordinator, but he assured McEnroe he was in a good spot.
