Parts of Detroit might be difficult to navigate Thursday with heavy traffic expected because of a Detroit Lions game at Ford Field, an Aretha Franklin tribute concert at Chene Park and a viewing of Franklin's body at her father's church.
To top it off, some streets will be closed in preparation for this weekend's Detroit Jazz Festival.
“We are urging anyone coming downtown for these or any other events to arrive very early to make sure they can park and get to their venue on time,” Ron Brundidge, director of the Detroit Department of Public Works, said in a news release.
