Harold Landry's draft slide appears related to a medical issue

ALLEN PARK -- The Lions came up on the clock with the 20th pick, and it felt like something natural might happen. Harold Landry, the slick edge rusher their defensive coordinator coached at Boston College, was surprisingly still there. He fit one of their biggest needs. They'd know how to use him, too.

The Lions surprised when they took Arkansas center Frank Ragnow instead. But then Landry started to slide, down and out of the first round. And now there's a semblance of an idea why.

Some teams have flagged Landry for knee and back injuries, NFL Network reported as the first round was concluding.
