Haloti Ngata is already a finalist to become the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year. Now, after an aggressive campaign on social media, he's already earned some money for his foundation.
Ngata was named the winner of the Man of the Year Charity Challenge, which was based on mentions on social media from Dec. 11 to Jan. 7. Whoever got the most mentions with the hashtag #WPMOYChallenge would pick up a $25,000 donation to his charity.
On Thursday, the NFL announced Ngata and his charity, the Haloti Ngata Family Foundation, had won.
The Foundation has worked with trying to get students into college by offering free college prep courses.
