ORLANDO - Hall of Fame football player Cortez Kennedy is dead, according to the Orlando Police Department. He was 48.
Police say there is "nothing suspicious to report," regarding the 8-time Pro Bowler's death. Kennedy died alone, according to police.
Drafted by the Seahawks as the 3rd pick in 1990 NFL Draft out of Miami (Fla), Kennedy played his entire 11-year career in Seattle. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012.
The 1992 Defensive Player of the Year had 58 sacks in his illustrious career, which was made by his ability to both rush the quarterback and stop the run
The Associated Press named Kennedy to the 1990s All-Decade team.
