Halftime analysis: Lions repeat mistakes, look dreadful again

BALTIMORE -- Jim Caldwell said he wanted to see sharper execution out of his starters in tonight's dress rehearsal against the Ravens.

He did not get it. Not at all.

The Detroit Lions opened the game by dropping a pass (Golden Tate), rushing for no gain (Ameer Abdullah), and getting whistled for a false start (Riley Reiff). Things haven't really gotten better from there, either, and they trail 20-6 heading into halftime.

The Lions offense has now gone nine straight series without a TD to open the preseason. And it's not for a lack of opportunity.
