Dude, it's 2016 - and Carl Cheffers is working a Detroit Lions-Green Bay Packers game again.
Cheffers, who officiated the Packers' Hail Mary win over the Lions at Ford Field last December, will be on the field for Sunday's rematch at Lambeau Field, according to the week's roster of officials as reported by Football Zebras and ESPN.
The veteran official spent three days at Lions training camp this summer, and during a media session to explain rule changes for the season, defended the facemask penalty he called on Devin Taylor one play before Aaron Rodgers' Hail Mary pass.
