Greg Hardy knocked out former Detroit Lions player in his UFC debut

Greg Hardy wasn't the only former NFL player in the UFC octagon on Tuesday night.

Austen Lane, the 240-pound former defensive who was knocked out by Hardy 57 seconds into the first round, had a cup of coffee in the NFL and spent 22 days during the 2013 season with the Detroit Lions.

Lane, drafted out of Murray State by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fifth round of 2010 NFL Draft, also spent time with the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs.

The 30-year-old Lane had been a perfect 4-0 heading into his fight with Hardy in Week 1 of Dana White's Contender Series at the TUF Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada, but he was quickly dealt his first loss after taking a pair of punches to the face.
