ALLEN PARK -- Bob Quinn was direct after the draft when it came time to explain the theme that selecting two interior offensive linemen and a running back created.
"I think when I look back at our team last year, all those critical situations, like it's goal line, we can't run the ball like half a yard. That bothered me," the Lions general manager said.
It was an indictment of a few critical parts of his organization, from the coaching staff to the makeup of the personalities in the locker room. But it also said plenty about the performance of the players up front, the ones Quinn continues to pump front-line contracts and high draft picks into.
