Yes, I’m aware that grading a coaching hire just hours after the news broke is a fool’s errand. In the immediate aftermath of the Darrell Bevell hiring last year, most were mocking the hire for the fiasco at the end of Super Bowl or lamenting the fact that Bevell coached with a philosophy of a forgotten era in which rushing ran supreme. Well, Bevell managed to erase most concerns about him in just one year’s worth of work. We should all give new Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Cory Undlin the same opportunity as well.
