The Detroit Lions signed free agent defensive end Quanterus Smith Wednesday. Contract terms were not disclosed.
Smith joins the Lions after spending the 2015 season on the New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars practice squads.
He began his NFL career with the Denver Broncos from 2013-14, where he appeared in 15 games.
Originally drafted by the Broncos in the fifth round (146 overall) in 2013 out of Western Kentucky, Smith has recorded 11 career tackles (seven solo), including two tackles for loss, and two pass defenses.
