FIRST DOWN: NOT JUST ANY WIN
Detroit’s 45-10 defeat in London wasn’t just another loss because of the grandness of it, and it being on the national stage.
Their 18-16 win Sunday in Green Bay wasn’t just another win, either, because of the improbability of it and what it means for the franchise.
In the grand scheme of things, it’s win No. 2 in a disappointing season, but it means a lot more than that to the players in the locker room, to a lot of people within the organization and to the fans.
Not only did Sunday’s win break the streak of 24 consecutive losses in the state of Wisconsin for the Lions, but it gave a lot of people a reason to smile who haven’t done a whole lot of smiling on Sunday lately.
