Former Detroit Lions president Tom Lewand has been hired as the new chief executive of Shinola, the Detroit-based luxury goods retailer.
Shinola's parent company, Texas-based Bedrock Manufacturing, announced late Thursday that Lewand has taken up the Shinola CEO reins. He has replaced former Shinola CEO Steve Bock, who has transitioned to be CEO of Filson, a Bedrock-owned clothing company with offices in Seattle.
Lewand was fired from the Lions in November by team owner Martha Ford, along with general manager Martin Mayhew, following the football team's poor performance.
Lewand's hiring was announced as part of a senior management restructuring at Bedrock Manufacturing.
