Rob Sims is like many former NFL players in that he’s concerned about whether he has the degenerative brain disease CTE after a long career playing football.
“Absolutely,” Sims said Thursday after an appearance at the Detroit Police Athletic League’s Boysville gym. “Some of the things that guys are going through, if that was something that would happen to me and I’d be that burden on my family, that would be something I would struggle with for sure.”
But as much as Sims worries about his longterm health, the former Lions offensive guard said he has no issues with his 3-year-old son, Scoop, following in his footsteps one day.
