Former Detroit Lions defensive back Stanley Wilson has died at the age of 40, the team confirmed on Wednesday.
According to TMZ, Wilson died while being transferred from Los Angeles County jail to a hospital that specializes in mental health on Feb. 1. Wilson collapsed during the intake process and eventually died, according to the report.
Wilson was in police custody after being arrested last August for reportedly breaking into a Hollywood Hills mansion twice, finding time to bath in an outdoor fountain at the home one of the times. It was determined that Wilson was unable to stand trial due to his mental health.
