Ford addresses Lions players, expects to win now

Detroit Free Press sports writers Dave Birkett and Carlos Monarrez say Lions coach Jim Caldwell knows that the end is near for his time in Detroit.

Word started to trickle down to players shortly before their 2 p.m. meeting.

The Detroit Lions were returning from their bye week and owner Martha Ford was going to address the team, so no one better be late.

Four days after she fired Martin Mayhew as general manager and Tom Lewand as president, Ford addressed Lions players in a full team meeting today.
