ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions owner Martha Ford addressed her entire team Monday to explain why she fired team president Tom Lewand and general manager Martin Mayhew, and to lay out her expectations for the rest of the season.
The meeting came less than a week after Lewand and Mayhew were fired and on the first day players returned from their bye week break.
"That's rare," defensive end Darryl Tapp said. "A lot of owners are kind of out of the mix but that's kind of the cool thing about here. She is involved.
