Matthew Stafford’s home is for sale. And for a couple hours early Friday morning, the internet exploded among Detroit Lions fans.
As far as I could tell, folks’ reactions were divided into three categories: relief, sadness and pity. As in: good riddance; no, you can’t go; and you’ve done your penance and good luck in a proper NFL city.
There was a fourth reaction, too: house envy. But then Stafford’s lakefront property — sheathed in granite and glass with an infinity pool on the waterside — likely inspires house envy no matter how you feel about him as a quarterback.
