Five draft picks sign rookie contracts

Draft picks do not have to be under contract to participate in rookie minicamps and offseason programs, but with the implementation of the wage school for rookies starting with the 2011 draft year the trend has been for rookies to sign soon after the draft. With salaries slotted by draft position, there is little reason to wait to sign.

In light of this, Alex Carter (third-round pick), Gabe Wright (fourth), Michael Burton (fifth), Quandre Diggs (sixth) and Corey Robinson (seventh) decided to sign on the dotted line of their rookie contracts. Those are all four-year deals.

The team is still working to sign first-round pick Laken Tomlinson and second rounder Ameer Abdullah.
