DETROIT -- The Detroit Lions' quest for a three-game winning streak is off to a good start as the home team jumped out to a 7-0 load against the Philadelphia Eagles. But the lead might be short-lived with the Eagles opening the second quarter with a second-and-goal from Detroit's 1-yard line.
The Lions won the coin toss, but decided to trust their defense, deferring to the Eagles' high-octane attack. Philadelphia moved the ball deep into Lions territory, but the key play was the coaching staff's decision to accept a third-down penalty after getting the stop, pushing Philadelphia back and ultimately resulting in a missed field goal.
