Tailgating is synonymous with college football, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t NFL fans who know how to cook brats, drink beer and toss bags.
In fact, the pregame scene before Lions games is one of the best in the country. Around the city, there are parties that feature DJs and live music, barbecuing, meet and greets, games and other special celebrations.
Eastern Market, located just north of Ford Field, might be the best place to party before games. It features that same fun, plus it has the zaniest characters and superfans imaginable — folks like Yooperman, The Pilgrim and The Tubgaters — hanging out and drinking with other tailgaters.
