ALLEN PARK -- Ezekiel Ansah has battled injury for two straight years. The Detroit Lions guaranteed him more than $17 million anyway.
Now he'll open training camp on the physically unable to perform list.
Detroit announced the move Wednesday, along with a few other housekeeping items: Receiver Andy Jones will join Ansah o n the PUP list, while rookie fullback Nick Bawden was moved to injured reserve with a knee injury. Linebacker Freddie Bishop was signed in the corresponding move.
But Ansah's continued problems getting on the field are the most noteworthy item of the bunch.
