Darren Fells spent just one year in Matthew Stafford's offense in Detroit. He caught 17 passes while serving as the blocking tight end of the unit.
But he was known as one of the more cerebral veterans on the roster, and by now, he's been around a range of talented quarterbacks.
Fells is now playing with the Browns, who reportedly outbid the Lions for his services this spring. He's playing with Baker Mayfield, the enigmatic No. 1 overall pick. And he told Cleveland.com yesterday that Mayfield reminds him a little of Stafford.
By the way, Fells, who has played with Carson Palmer and Matthew Stafford, seems impressed by Baker Mayfield.
