DETROIT -- Herman Moore was one of the biggest sports stars in this town during the 1990s. He rewrote the Lions' record book, made four Pro Bowls and set the NFL single-season catches record in 1995.
All these years later, he still calls Detroit home.
But Charlottesville, Va., holds a special place in his heart too. And it's killing him to his old college town ripped apart by racism and violence.
"It was so hard to see a peaceful place turned into tragedy, and now one that's being thrust into the national spotlight in a such a terrible, heart-breaking way," Moore said.
