PITTSBURGH -- Former Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, theft of services and public drunkenness, according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
Pettigrew was arrested after he allegedly punched a police officer in the chest three times following a dispute over a limousine fare. The Post Gazette reports Pettigrew refused to pay a $97 limousine fare.
When officers arrived, Pettigrew allegedly refused to identify himself claiming to know his constitutional rights. Eventually, officers drew their Tasers and ordered Pettigrew to step back and put his hands behind his back.
