Former Detroit Lions tight end Eric Ebron was available via free agency, but a return to the Motor City was not in the cards.
Ebron, the No. 10 pick in the 2014 NFL draft, has signed a two-year, $12 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The 6-foot-4, 253-pound tight end spent the last two seasons in Indianapolis. In 2018, he caught 66 passes for 750 yards and 13 touchdowns and was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time. Last season was a step back, with only 31 catches for 375 yards and three touchdowns in just 11 games.
