Ex-Detroit Lions Pro Bowler Darius Slay is making a number change.
The new Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay is paying tribute to one of the city's greatest athletes.
Slay said Saturday he plans to switch his jersey number to honor the late Kobe Bryant. "My number I'm rocking? I'm going with that 2-4, man. I'm rockin' with 2-4 this year," Slay said on an Instagram Live video.
"Kobe mode. Black Mamba, baby. Rest in peace to the GOAT, man. Rest in peace to one of my favorite players."
Bryant died — along with his daughter Gianna and seven others — in a helicopter crash Jan.
