Ex-Michigan quarterback Brian Griese will be the color analyst when the Detroit Lions open their 2018 NFL season on Monday Night Football against the New York Jets.
Griese joins play-by-play commentator Beth Mowins and sideline reporter Laura Rutledge on the ESPN crew for the Sept. 10 game at Ford Field (7:10 p.m. kickoff).
Joe Tessitore, Jason Witten, Booger McFarland and Lisa Salters will make their debut as ESPN's mainstay Monday Night Football crew later that night at 10:15, when the Los Angeles Rams play the Oakland Raiders.
The Detroit game marks the official start of the Matt Patricia era.
