PHOENIX — When Charlie Ebersol was writing his business plan for the Alliance of American Football, one of the songs he found inspiration in — one he said “kept repeating over and over and over again” on his playlist — was “Lose Yourself” by Eminem.
So when the Detroit-based rapper tagged the league in a Monday night tweet that quickly went viral, Ebersol took it as a sign that the vision he has for growing his start-up football league is going all according to plan.
“Everything comes more into color when Eminem, even if he’s joking, reaches out, because at the end of the day the dude literally wrote the song that partially inspired the league,” Ebersol told the Free Press in a phone interview late Tuesday night.
