ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Connor Barwin comes back to Detroit now and things just look…different. The Detroit that Barwin, now a Philadelphia Eagles linebacker, knew as a kid is gone.
He played basketball at the now-abandoned St. Rita’s growing up. He went to U of D Jesuit, one of the better schools in the area. And now he comes back and the areas he once knew and spent massive amounts of time in have changed. Where there were houses in his youth, weeds and grass now grow, buildings sit abandoned or torn down.
There are streets he walks down that are just empty and four-lane roads barely populated by cars.
