METAIRIE, La. – Drew Brees may have Matthew Stafford beat in most categories this year – yards, TDs, completion percentage, etc.
But the reason Stafford is being touted as an NFL MVP candidate is because he’s doing something for the Detroit Lions that the New Orleans Saints haven’t been able to do consistently for three years: Win the close ones.
Stafford leads the NFL with seven fourth-quarter comebacks this season and 10 since the start of 2015.
