Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes has made one thing pretty darn clear throughout his four years of draft: if there’s a prospect that he likes, he’s not going to be afraid to go and get him. In four drafts, he’s traded up for the following prospects:
- LB Derrick Barnes
- WR Jameson Williams
- S Brian Branch
- DT Brodric Martin
- CB Terrion Arnold
- OT Giovanni Manu
- RB Sione Vaki
- DT Mekhi Wingo
Eight trade ups in four years isn’t a crazy amount, but half of those came last year, showing perhaps a preference of Holmes to just get good players instead of a lot of players at this point in the team’s roster development.
