The Detroit Lions find themselves in a somewhat unfamiliar spot in this year’s NFL Draft. They pick relatively late, like they did last year. However, this time, there’s no guarantee that even a first-round draft pick is going to be a starter. The Lions are good, and their roster is deep. That means they can make long-term picks, including in the first round.
That being said, the NFL Draft doesn’t have the same entertainment value we’re used to it having as Lions fans. It’s a welcome change—I’d much rather have a good football team than a high draft pick—but one that will take some getting used to nonetheless.
