ALLEN PARK -- The Lions decided to make a coaching change at the midpoint of their season by firing long-time special teams coach Joe Marciano.
The expectation was that they'd promote his assistant to the main role, and that's what the Lions are going to do -- mostly.
Matt Patricia said that assistant special teams coach Devin Fitzsimmons will take over a majority of the job.
"But we have a lot of coaches on staff that have coached special teams before and in the past and it will be a group effort to make sure everything is handled," Patricia said on a teleconference.
